Dr. Mehrdad Ahkami

My main research interest is flow in porous media. In my PhD project, I focus on visualization of reactive flow in fractured porous media, by using optical methods such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). The project mainly aims to improve our understanding of flow in heterogeneous porous media and the effect of mineral precipitation on porosity and permeability of the system.
