Dr. Serhat Küçük

As an earth scientist, I am working on developing geoscientific solutions to help mitigate atmospheric CO2 levels. Geological storage and utilization of greenhouses gases (especially CO2) is the core of my research and my motivation. I am mainly interested in integrating CO2 sequestration and geothermal energy extraction, especially in depleted or semi-depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs. I conduct numerical simulations to better understand the dynamic behavior of the injected CO2 in the porous media, as well as the geochemical interactions between the fluid and the rock.
