Dr. Anke Wohlers

My research area is experimental petrology aiming at experimentally simulating conditions within the Earth to understand fundamental petrological and geochemical processes. I combine high-pressure, high-temperature experiments and thermodynamic modelling to predict polymerisation of aqueous species and network formers in solution to understand fluid-rock interaction in the earth curst and trace element partitioning between crystals and melt.

I am interested working in the field of Fusion technologies, e.g. experimentally investigating the hydrogen isotope retention and release behaviour in plasma-facing materials.
